Ash is a pale coloured timber with a generally straight grain. It is traditionally used for tool handles but increasingly used in joinery, shop-fitting and flooring. It is ideally suited to internal use.
Beech is distinctive with its pink to reddish colour and is traditionally used in furniture and flooring. It is ideally suited to internal use.
Oak is a pale yellowish to biscuit colour with a straight grain widely used in joinery, shop-fitting and furniture as it polishes to an excellent finish. It is also an ideal timber for external use.
Utile mahogany has a fairly uniform reddish colour with an irregular interlocked grain; suitable for high quality joinery, cabinet work and furniture. It is also an ideal timber for external use.
